Question two soundcards one set of speakers

At the moment I have a computer with a soundblaster live 1024 (old i know) with a cheapish 5.1 speaker system which i use for work/gameplay/dvd/music. What i would like to do is make a standalone media center PC for my tv so i can use my current pc for just work/gameplay. I would like a 5.1 system attached to both of them but as i dont want to have two 5.1 speaker systems in my room would it be possible to attach my current set of speakers into both soundcards or do i need to get new soundcard or speakers to do this?

Thankyou for your help

Yeah just grab a bunch of y-splitters either for the 3.5mm or RCA or whatever jacks you have on the speakers
