Right now i have Spysweeper (paid version from MSN) and Norton antivirus installed in my computer. What i need now is a firewall that will not slowdown my download.
First, how reliable is the windows firewall? will it slow download my Bt download? I use NIS before but the subscription just run out, so i don't have it anymore. so I tried Zonealarm internet security suit. It works great untill i turn on my Azureus. Zonealarm cause some problem with Azureus because it slows down the download from what use to be around 350 to 10KBs. It also have some CPU usage problems, it cause CPU usage to peak. causeing Azureus to take upto 70% of the CPU when i am only download 5 torrents. With NIS the most Azureus have ever took up is around 30% when i am download 25 different downloads. Including the CPU usage the Zonealarm uses the CPU is at 100% so i can't do anything else. if anybody have any experience with the problem i am haveing, please help me. If you know the firewall that i am looking for, please let me know. It does not matter if it's free or not. Thanks |

im sorry but the only firewall that I would recommend to you is zonealarm, but another firewall that ive never tried is Kerio, the only thing is its shareware.

Is the strongest recommendation on personal firewalls described in the article that evaluates several products. You read this review at http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/ZDM/story?id=2023631

Well you can't forward a port. But you can forward the download page to either your email by way of another online connection or forward it to friends and family or whoever by simply going to http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ and pasting the link in an email if not forwarding the page directly.

how do firewalls slow down ur download? they do nothing but open and close ports when told? If your downloads going slow than u dont have the appropriate ports opened. Different firewalls just have different ways of doing basiclly the same thing, windows firewall is one of the simplist and effective that ive found, ifonly i could find out how to open multiple ports at once on it
