Hi, Basically here is my computer...
Apple Power Mac G4 with 450 MHZ processor
I want to upgrade my operating system to something which supports file sharing over a network, email over a network, and internet connectivity over a network. Any suggestions... |

OS X might be able to do that all or you can get a version of linux that works on macs. http://www.lowendmac.com/linux/index.shtml
I think you can install and run Unix programs in OSX

it would be very rare for that to happen. Most Unix/Linux software does not support teh PPC chips.
