Use a windows 98 startup disk and boot off of it. When given a choice. Choose 4 which is exit. This will take you to a dos prompt. A>. At the prompt type fdisk /mbr This will remove the boot loader and restore it back to the way it should be. Type it just the way you see it. If all goes ok you will be back at the A prompt. I use it to remove linux bootloader all the time. Remove the disk and use ctl+alt+del to reboot.

If your using xp currently,
Right click on "My Computer"
Click Properties
Click on the "Advanced" tab
Click "Settings" under "Startup and Recovery"
Change the "Time to display a list of operating systems to one second
If that doesnt fix it then

Right click on "My Computer"
Click Properties
Click on the "Advanced" tab
Click "Settings" under "Startup and Recovery
Click "Edit"
You should see something like this:
[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn

If there is more than one operating system, then delete that part.
