Default Windows XP takes forever to load

I just built my new pc a month ago. This is my first build and I have run into a few problems.

When I turn on the computer windows XP takes a long time to load up. Also, about every 10 times I turn on my computer, an error message comes up saying windows has recovered from a serious system something something something..................when I go to technical information on the error report it says something about my graphics card.............any ideas?

I am brand new to drivers and bios, seems all pretty complicated to me. I know where to get the drivers from but I dont know what I need to install.

Could anyone help me out with this.........I learn once I do something.

Also, do I need to uninstall anything?

Did you install the drivers that came with the mobo and gpu, if u didn't do that do it, if you did look at the manufactures webpage and see if they came out with any new drivers....

its pretty simple to install the drivers you just pop in the disc and it does it, or download them and open the file ( usually the manufacture has a excutable .exe file that will install the drivers)

I installed drivers with the software that came with the mobo and gpu.

I know where to get the drvers from on the asus website (display drivers right?) but I dont know if I need to uninstall the old drivers first. I looked at the add/remove programs thing and saw that there are three separate nvidia/asus drivers........

Just open it up. If you have XP, it'll allow you to unzip it.
File>Extract All I believe

If not, you'll need either WinZip or WinRAR
