Default exe errors

Well recently ive noticed that quite of my .exe have stopped working well actually most of them did only like 2 still work. anyways when I click on the .exe the sand timer comes up then goes away nothing else happens. I have important stuff to do so if someone could help me out with this is would be greatly appreciated.

The only reason that i could see that happening is if the program's contents has been altered which would explain why the .exe's won't open properly, this might have been done by a virus. Although there are other explanations, perhaps if you've upgraded something major, the software is no longer compatible.
