Viruses automatically running

The recent viruses that i have been getting are really starting to get annoying, becuase they somehow keep opening themselves without me even clicking on them. I thought a program had to be selected and ran to start executing its commands. How they do this?

download AVG Free, 4 anti-virus. also, run Panda Scan, and post the log it makes in Computer Security, when the scan's finished, save it 2 your desktop.
