dual os boot
I partitioned my hard drive a while back and installed XP Pro on one and XP Media Center on the other. Then I wiped the MC partition and installed XP Pro on that as well. Now when I boot I have the two identical choices of XP Pro, which is fine, but I still see the MC option. These selections arent in some program, just part of the firmware or w/e. How can I delete the MC option and, if possible, prehaps edit the other two without another piece of softare? thanx alot

In XP Pro, go to Start > Run > msconfig > BOOT.INI > Under "Operating Systems", look for an entry that says Media Center or MCE, if it's there then click on the "check all boot paths" button, and it should get rid of it. If it doesnt, then move XP Pro to show up first, that way you dont have to switch to XP Pro manually every time you reboot.
