Default Difference between processors?

i see a intel pentium 4 3.0 E for around 187.00 US and a pentium 4 3.0 C for 235.00 US whats the difference between the E and the C? Is it worth the extra cash in the long run?

P4C-3.0
- aka NorthwoodC @ 3.00GHz
- 21 stage pipe based on the Netburst architecture
- Comes as a Socket478 chip
- Enhanced versions of this chip with 2MB L3 are labelled as P4EE

P4E-3.0
- aka Prescott @ 3.00GHz
- 30 stage pipe based on the Netburst architecture
- Comes in either Socket478 or Socket775 ... the Socket478 models were the ones to launch Intel to the top of the heat-food-chain

With the S478 department, the P4C is the route to go ... you get a much more efficient chip clock for clock (longer pipeline = less efficient per clock) and you avoid head issues. Granted you lose out on SSE3 but whooppe. Overall its a bit harder of a decision (mostly because the P4E-775s require such an investment ... PCIx, DDD2 .. sure you can get DDR on some but you might as well go all out)
