i have currently got the logitech X-530s running on my laptop (only got one input so running them in stereo)
anyways it is my birthday in a couple of months (i know that it is a long way a way) but i need to start thinking and doing some research. i want to listen to music really high quality, and i am torn between getting a full home theatre system or the top of the line logitech computer speakers. if i were to get the top of the line logitechs, then i would have to get a sound card, looking at creative, good external i am looking at AUS$220, and the top of the line logitechs im looking at about 500-600AUS. so is it worth it or do i get a home theatre speaker set, what is better, i dont need it to be portable, and i like music crisp and clear nice and loud. which would you do and could you suggest some speakers for me. so i am looking at about $800AUS. what do i get?

The website is www.xe.com ..... and yes, a Home Theatre Audio set-up will provide higher quality sound (depending on your choice)

Either way you'll need a new soundcard... As for the actual system, a home theater system would probably sound the best. However, I don't know what's avaliable or prices down there.

well i fugured for 200AUS i could get the best external sound card from creative, and then i could get the top of the line logitechs right, the same is available here as over there.
the problem with home theatre, is i need an amp and i have looked around and they are expensive.

For about $260USD, I got this awsome RCA home theater system(amp, speakers, DVD player, FM Radio, MP3 player, etc etc) plus an additional KLH 10" sub. Now, I've never connected it to my computer, but it had RCA inputs so it'd be very easy to.
It's not the greatest, and I've not heard Logitech speakers, but I seriously doubt they could shake the house quite like this setup can ![]()

There is no point at all in getting a full home theater system to listen to music.
These speakers are great: The link at newegg is down, but they are the Swan M200's.
