Default Sp2

I can't exactly put my finger on it but I think the MS SP2 is causing my laptop some problems. It keeps freezing up when I go and use a search; also my web mail produces errors and wants to send to Microsoft every time I go to my inbox. I have no idea how to diagnose this problem, any ideas? I also tried to uninstall SP2 and it said its missing some DLL file, plus I can't even open SP2. Any help would be appreciative.

Where can I download SP2 to maybe reinstall it?

SP2 could cause problems on some hardware, but first I'd rather check your system for viruses/spywares...

I did that last night, went out and bought 2005 McAfee spamkiller, virusscan, and quickclean. The only thing I have to link the SP2 is because I tried to uninstal it and it was missing some dll file.
