After i rebooted my pc this message appeared " Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attemp to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-Rom. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair. But i cant even boot from the cd drive without it going to that same screen above, has anyone had this problem before?

what do you mean you can't boot ?
you can boot from the CD even if you don't have HDD installed anyway check your BIOS and make the CD-Rom the first boot device Put the CD and restart boot from CD select repair existing windows and there you go

From the Recovery Console you could manually expand a needed file from the "I386" folder on the cd itself if you know the correct file name. But the type of file missing or simply being reported that way would require what is referred to as an "Install to Repair" where the XP installer will repair and replace needed system files without wiping the current installation. Your files and folders are preserved while fixing Windows itself. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm
