problems with the game, probably, nothing to do with a hard drive. Memory might be making it slow, and lag the system down. Refresh rate (fps) is mainly determined by the Video card. If youre having problems with Wolfenstein ET, chances are your video card is pretty old, or youre using onboard video memory. But that usually just deals with in-game graphics... youre talkin about a "progress bar" for when ur downloading a new map, so thats obviously not graphic intensive at all. It's probably just that your system is slow (maybe a slow HD, ram, or most importantly CPU) that when ur downloading the map, your computer cant run the game and manage a humongous file at the same time, so it "glitches" because the computer has to process a game, download a file, write to the hard drive, all at the same time, which can overload a slow CPU. Sometimes that happens to everyone. Sometimes the files are just so big that u have to wait it out. If i were u, i wouldnt worry about it, as long as the file still downloads all the way. If wolfenstein shuts down and you cant get the file, then tell us.

But not on this board lol. Video games and consoles

They should help out.

The refresh rate has nothing to do with the siuation as far as I can understand, to control the refresh rate you can use your video card drivers.
