Just got partition magic; have an old 128gb Hard drive in two partitions (one is only about 3gb and I am not worried about it) I tried to format the other partition (the bulk of the hard drive, about 125gb) using windows formatting tool but it "could not be completed" so now I want to use partition magic to format it. Only problem is, partition magic shows it as having an "invalid" file allocation system and will not allow me to format it.
It does however give me the option to "delete" it. What would happen then? Would all that space be lost completely? Would it still be there, waiting to be partitioned and used again? Someone help me please; thanks in advance. (PS. This is not the hard drive I am currently using, its lying dormant.)
