Default XP OS Boot error

Ok,

laptop boots, the post screen is shrunk to the size of a postage stamp and there are several displayed accross the top of the screen. loads windows os boot options and everything is misspelled. when you get into windows (if you get into windows) everything is still misspelled and very litle of the network options are available.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Misspelled? Could you please further describe that? Maybe a screenshot.

Failing a screen shot (hard to get because it sounds like you are having boot and display problems) take a pic with a camera and post it
