Unhappy back panle sound not working..

ok just got the new computer, winxp 32 on it. i can't get the back sound to work. the case sound which i connected myself works just fine but the back doesn't work.. i had to remove two jumpers to add the case sound in.. would that have stopped it?
the sound effect thing that comes with drivers detects when i unplug my speakers and plug them back in, but it just doesn't want to give out any noise..
help?

my best guess would be something with the sound drivers, but if not it might be a motherboard problem, but if that's the only thing that's not working then i would just plug the speakers into the front of the case or buy a sound card and plug them into that. Try going to the manufacturer of your motherboard's website and see if they have some sound drivers you can install.

No, the 2 jumpers you removed were there so that the sound for the rear would work if there was no other connectors, and since you added connecters, removing those should make both front and back work. Id agree that it could be drivers.
