Question Media Player Problems

This is my first post here so please bear with me. 2 weeks ago I completly wiped my Harddrive and reinstalled windows. Everything runs perfect, except my windows media player. When i did all my windows updates it updated it to Windows media player 10. Ive always had media player 9 and it was never a problem...but ever since i have had 10 music stops and starts sparatically when im listening to music and sometimes media player stops responding entirely forcing me to task manage it and end process.

Is this a media player 10 problem and if so how do i roll back my media player version to 9. And if this isnt the issue what is? I just dont know how i go from a cluttered working media player 9 to a non working clean media player 10. Thanks for the help

Meida Player 10 can be uninstalled using the add remove programs. If you're using SP2, you may have to check the show updates box. Once its uninstalled you may have to install windows media player 9 serperately.

Actually im beginning to think its something else...

I had limewire on about a min ago and it started doing the same thing. It would start playing music then stop. Now im trying to watch my Adult Swim stuff on their website but it just keeps saying loading. And also i have no sound now on my system.

Well, how powerful is your machine? Try installing MP11 for that matter.

Default Codec

I believe sc7 is on the right track I would have to say you have a currupt codec small piece of software the decodes mp3 ect. Make sure that you uninstall mp 10 first.

Kindest Regards
