Default What PS should I get?? replacing 500w x-connect

The PS is for my A64 setup

it runs 2 gigs of ram, 4 SATA II hard drives in raid 0, x-fi Fatal1ty, 2 DVD drives, floppy, internal memory card reader, 2 120mm fans, 7900GT KO superclocked, think that's all I have that drains power?? I'm just tired of using a cheap PS(cost me $40 AR for my case and PS) cause I think it is the culprit for my choppy video.. it's kinda weird how it does it. my PC runs fine then once it gets loaded pretty hard it gets choppy and even if I close the game the mouse drags real slow.. like bounces around, it stays choppy until I reboot my PC. I upgraded to my new video card and it still does it so the only thing left I can think of is the PS

I want something good.. looking to spend around $100 tops.. less is better ofcourse.. but I don't wanna get another cheap PS. I was looking at a 600W XClio but it's almost $140 shipped, somebody said to get an Enermax.. but a comparable one I found was also almost $140 shipped. I thought about a seasonic but woah those are expensive.. I haven't been in the market for a PS for so long to really know what is good/bad. Is 600W excessive?? would 500W work for me with that video card, the x-fi fatal1ty, and 4 hard drives?? I have heard mixed reviews for Antec.. some say they are good, some say they suck, and some say they are just good if you are wanting to buy one of their case/PS combos(get what ya pay for) but not worth buying just a PS. I personally have 2 Antec PS's in other systems, but I dont push those.. they are both Linux machines I use for websites and storage

what brand, wattage, amps, etc.. or even links, I don't care. I am just so out of the loop with power supplies

I doubt its the wattage that is hurting you,

I currently have a
AMD Athlon 3500
300GB SATA HD
40GB HD
2GB DDR333
Geforce 6600
1xCD drive
1xDVD drive,
3 case fans, one cpu fan.
2 cold cathode lights

On idle i use just a little less then 100W, and during heavy usage i use 200W of power. Wattage is overrated now a days.

One thing about PSU's is the amperage on mostly the 12V rail, but if your PSU lacks on any other rail it could also cause problems. If you have good wattage and good amperage you should be OK, but some power supply's are just crappy and low quality, and some high quality ones just go bad sometimes

I currently have Coolermaster Real Power 450 and it works great and has a wattage meter(how i know how many watts I'm using.) I got the PSU about 3 years ago and its still working, and it says to last " > 400,000 Hours" which would be over 45 years of continuous use.
