Is Tahoma installed on that system? Try to remove/reinstall the font and Acrobat Reader.

You can copy it from your laptop.

On the laptop go to Control Panel / Fonts, search for Tahoma and copy it to a temp folder (copy, not move: click and drag with Ctrl key pressed). Then on the desktop go to Control Panel / Fonts copy it to the desktop, File / Install new font and point to the folder in which that font is.

You can try reinstalling Acrobat Reader on the desktop.
To avoid pdf font problems, in Acrobat Distiller settings check the "Embed all fonts" option and clear the "Never embed" list.

Tahoma font gets installed by default(In the Font Folder) when Windows is installed

Reinstall Windows if the Font has been deleted by mistake
