You mean the trial period ran out?

It's free, you could just register it.

You need to go to the Avast website, look for the free home version and register. You will receive a serial# by email. Right-Click the Avast tray icon and select Start Avast then click on the registration button and paste your serial.

Afterwards, right-click the tray icon and do a manual update for the program and for the virus definitions.

Don't forget! In 14 months you will need to re-register, but it will still be free! So don't lose any of the information you gave them.
