Default power problem

alright. ive had my dell inspiron 1000 for a long time now and now sometimes when i plug the power cord in it wont charge and i have to move it where it goes into my computer. i know its not a problem with the power cord because i bought a new one and its still doing it. is there anyway to fix this? without getting a whole new motherboard?

You might be able to resolder the power connector to the motherboard... the hard part will be getting access to the area.
