Default is AM2 buggy?

I am going to upgrade to an am2 motherboard and processor.

But some people complain that AM2 processors/mobos are buggy and aren't complete yet. Is that true or is it ok to get am2 hardware?

Well My limit is around $500, I may be able to get more, but I only need a processor, motherboard, Memory, and case/cpu combo.

What I found is

Athlon Windsor 4000 x2

Tforce 550 motherboard. I don't know if its a better choice than the tforce 6100

OCZ 1gb ddr2 (pc2 5400)

PC115 case/350watt psu

no, I know that.

My point was I could get the 4000 for a bit more and it had 1mb per core
With the 3800 only having 512kb per core.

Oh, I though you meant the 4000+, not the X2 4000+, sorry . The X2 4000+ would be a nice choice. I know that on the 24th, the price of the X2 3800+ is dropping to $169, im not sure about the rest of the cpu's though.

Oh, I'm sorry. I guess I didn't say what core it was

Well AM2 hasn't been around a while. I'm assuming no AM2 processors will drop. But I'm just guessing
