Yup, I know exactly what's wrong. I'm a Panda dealer.

Panda Platinum requires a minimum 512MB of RAM or it will bring your system to it's knees. Put a RAM chip in there and you'll be all set.

In the meantime, try Avast! as a temporary fix.
