Floppy connector voltage

Is the floppy connector voltage 5V or 3.3V?

I got a device that can switch between either, and I'm getting real confused.

Let me guess, it is both.
The device will choose the voltage.

what sort of device, i know my video card takes standard floppy power, although i don't know what the voltage is off hand

just check the label on your power supply that should tell you

I'm probably wrong, but I thought it was like the molex connections... 5v and 12v... Eh, whatever, just grab a multi-meter and check it

I guess this would apply to any hard drive, since it is a split off what a hard drive would use.

1 red, 1 yellow, 2 black

Never thought about what voltage a hard drive runs at.
It must be either 5V or 3.3V.

HDs run off 12v and 5v...or that's what's coming from the molex connector.

12V for drive motors, 5V for drive electronics for FDDs and IDE HDDs.
