If i get a cpu that is SLI ready but I get one X1900 XTX in it, can crossfire also be compatible?

what a cpu thats crossfire ready? its the mobo that needs to be compatible with crossfire! And as long as the gfx card is crossfire compatible it is usable.

I think most of you forgot to answer the question...
If you have an SLI-Ready motherboard, you can only use it for nVidia's SLI. You need a Crossfire-Ready board to use ATI's Crossfire.
