OCing was a success... I was able to get my Athlon 2400+ from 2.0 up to 2.25
MY bios wont let me go any more then that... Anyways, whats better? Tower cover on or off??? Also, Sandra is the ultimate utility program... Over and out........................ |

i would keep the cover on..for one thing dust and other little particles can get in..if u have an extra slot get another fan. how many fans do u have? what's the temp of the cpu and mobo? ur cooling might be fine cause i went from 2.0 to 2.3 with just 2 fans and it's fine

Sandra is often inaccurate, but it's a good way to test general stability.
I get better temps with my case closed in the Winter, in the Summer i get better temps with it off and a room fan blowing in. Just see what works best for you. Dust is no problem if you clean out your case at least once a month. But if you do any kind of pencil mod i'd be careful...lots of air blowing in from say a room fan, can mess with your mod if its not sealed and cause instability. I haven't selaed mine yet as i got case closed and it's on there pretty good, but i plan to.

well, cpu temp is stable at 32C at 2.10 If i max it out to 2.25, temp starts at 34c and raises 1c every 40 minutes or so... im only running 1 fan... Not counting the fan on the processor and 2 fans built in my PS....
IF i close my case, should i have the fan blowing in or out?? which gives bettting cooling? |
