Exclamation Time for a new video card?

Well, a couple days ago my friend gave me a demo for Everquest 2. The graphics are simply amazing with maxed options, but my computer becomes extremely laggy. I think its my video card since the one I have is a NVIDIA Geforce FX 5200 Ultra 128 MB AGP 8X. I use my computer mostly for gaming and I only play the newest, nicest (graphically of course) games. I also have the same problem with Age Of Empires 3. On both the games that my computer lags on maxed options the package doesnt state a minimun requirement video card. I was wondering what kind of video card I could get to smoothly run the newest games and if possible games that are yet to come out, without going overboard and buying a godly video card. If you have any advice, please post it. Thank you.

if you're lagging with AOE3, you need a new card. 5200 is old school

Yeah, I know. I just wish I had known when I bought it. >< Ive heard good things about the ATI 100-435840 Radeon X1800XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 Video Card but I dont think itll work with with my motherboard. I have a ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe MoBo
