Default "Changing" OS version

Does anyone know how i can "aparently" change the version of my os? The problem is I need to install Office 2003 and Visio on my Win 98 SE computer and it won't let me cause the installer says I need Win 2000 or later.

I say aparently cause of course I wont change the version of the os without installing another one, but maybe there's a way to trick the pc into thinking im using Win 2000 or XP. I don't know, maybe the registry or something.

Ohh, I have nothing but the win 98 cd-rom to install from so you dont have to say I should install another win cause i dont have any.

Is there a way to make the pc think it is another os?
Thank you.

if it says you need win2k or later then you need win2k or later, it more than likely wont run on win98

Check out the min system requirements of that office here: http://www.microsoft.com/office/edit...fo/sysreq.mspx
If it says win2k or higher, than it won't run on win98.

Yeah it's quite possible that it depends on the NT Kernel and won't work at all on 98 even if you do trick it into installing.
