ugh, maybe someone knows some 1337 ways I can make it better. I get like 500-1200kbp/s on those test like on cnet. I have dsl, sbc yahoo service. I don't know what else I should tell you, so ask if you need to know something to 1337ify me.
oh, and my computer is on wireless if that matters. but the computers wired to this modem/router get the exactly the same scores in the cnet thing, so meh ?!? edit: forgot to say the main reason it sucks. random deaths in connection, but it's not just the wireless ones, happens to my dad's comp too which is wired. same times

I used to get slowdows/disconnects after ever 30mins or so, but after formatting the drive and installing the cable modem drivers properly the problems have been solved. Do you have the drivers installed correctly?, is it connected through USB or Ethernet?, and what operating system are you running?

Try plugging one of your computers in directly from the modem to the computer without a router and see if the same problem occurs, if it does, then tis likly to be just your crappy ISP, or your modem.(since all your PCs do it)

formatting what drive? my pc's? it's all of the comps in the network..
dunno about modem drivers, we've had the same modem since before I knew what RAM meant (so, a long time, lol) my dad's computer IS connected straight to the modem, so.. and also, is it possible the modem just sucks? it's like, from original dsl stuff ever..

It could be a modem issue... It also may be heat. Make sure nothing is on, or covering the vents of the router or the modem.
Note: I just got Cable, if you would like my 1 yr old dsl modem. PM me. (free)

we got a new router recently (because I used to get no connection all the way in my room)
that'd be awesome if it's what my problem is from btw, are my scores for what internet service I have pretty bad compared to what it should be? or just not amazing/normal

Wireless slowed my 8Mbps cable down, on both computers for some reason, I went back to wired, and all was better, IDK, maybe that could be the problem. How many machines are on this connection at once?
