DVD-R help!!! plz

i have two drive and one say dvd rom and another is cd-rw. i put a dvd-r my friend burned for me and it worked at first but it won't work after i took it out. Also the cd showed up on the drive daemon maked. How do i get that to happen again because i've spent like two days and many hours on this. thanks if you can help!

Was the surface of the dvd (the non-label side) damaged when it came out of the drive? Try it again after the pc has been rebooted to see if the problem is temporary.

I'm not sure what "the cd showed up on the drive daemon maked" means. Can you explain a bit more please?

also, i have notice on disks, if the front side is scrath, so will it be on the other. So if their is a scratch on either sides, it might simply be that.

The disc showed up on the drive daemon makes when you install it and my friend burned 4 disc and the first one worked before but it doesn't anymore; after i took it out.Also, it was not damaged and i rebooted a lot i even did a system restory. i checked for scratches i've been spending so much time on this,thank you so much if you cna help
