Ok I searched under the word Guitar and didnt find anything, so I figured I would ask.
Now I dont know how many here play instruments or like music that has alot of guitars in it, but I have been playing Guitar for close to 20 years and I love it. So for those of you who play or enjoy this kind of music who are your favorite Guitar players? For me my all time favorite is a 2 way tie between Stevie Ray Vaughn and Mark Knofler. Mark Knofler is by far one of the most underated players, because he wasnt in any really influential bands like say Clapton, Page, Glimour and the other greats. In my eyes he deserves alot more credit for his playing than he gets. On a side note the one thing that drives me nuts are bands like Pantera, Metallica and many of the other bands that have a thrashing solo in just about EVERY song. Soloing is awesome, but to many people think that is god like, but most solos are very easy to play once you break it down. Now that is not to say that I dont like listening to them, but Im just saying IMO those players are way to overrated. I give them credit for be so masterful in creating them from nothing, but it just drives me nuts to hear it in every song. |

i didnt quite understand what you are saying about Pantera and metallica. First Metallica is who started "thrash metal" and thier solo's pwn ass. and Pantera's guitarist dare i even speak his name. was and still is the Greatest metal guitarest in the world period.
RIP: DIMEBAG |

Actually Thrash Metal comes from the British metal scene in the 70's with bands like Tigers of Painan (however its spelt), Motorhead, Diamond Head. Metallica brought it to the American masses. Like i said I love Metallica and Pantera, but I just think there is much better overall guitar players out there. Now in Metal and Thrash Metal They are tops. Good choices either way both are amazing |

well since Metal is all i listen to my opinion falls on dimebag. Infact if i knew who killed dimedag i would personally slit his throat. Sorry but i liked Pantera and damage plan. And sadly metallica is only touring in asia this summer and my dad wont let me go
. But i did see my hero at a sammy hagar concert on june 11. I saw Dimebag's little brother Vinnie Paul. he totaly owned the guys drumset it was so badass. i think he played the drums in the song heavy metal. Cant really remember the concert tho LOL |

The guy who shot Dime was killed by the cops on scene, but IMO he didnt deserve to be shot. I wish they arrested him then through him in a cages full of Pantera fanatics and let them have their way with him. So your Hagar fan huh, so no need to ask which is better Van Halen with Sammy or with Dave , because I think already know your answer |

I think they both have their strong points and honestly I like them both the same, but then again Im not a huge VH fan. I do have all of their CD's, but then again I have over 8k CD's and some of them I dont like That is what happens when your Uncle owns a pawn shop. I wouldnt mind seeing Sammy live, he seems like he puts on a good show. RIP poor Xbox |
