Default Thumb drive Issue

I was re-installing winxp on a machine with my thumb drive plugged in and i acciedently formatted the thumb drive and now it's just dead. it's reconized by the computer but when i click on the drive it says, "please insert a disk into drive." I tried to format it again the same way i first did it. nothing. i tried in dos with (FORMAT J: /FS:FAT) and it says the file system is RAW and that the new file system is FAT but it can verify it so nothing. any idea to what i can do. please help me.

The information is lost (at least for you) so if nothing works, most thumbdrives have limited warranties.. and any store SHOULD also replace them for the exact same thumbdrive.
