-Using a premade screensaver making app might be the easiest
-DirectDraw via VB would prolly be the second easiest
-DirectDraw via C++ would prllly be next on the list

You can also learn Flash mx it is a great program to make screensavers with, of course u have to convert the fla into a screen saver using any program. It has easy actionscripting.

There are plenty of programs on the market that would make an animated screensaver, it saves you learning a programming language for one small duty

For someone who knows nothing about either language... I wouldnt recommend it.

The money and time you spend learning enough of either language to program a small animated screen saver, could be spent downloading a free (or shareware) program.
