ATI Radeon x1600 pro installation problems

i installed it correctly but i get no response from the monitor. I even put my old vid card back in there and my monitor isnt responding to the old one either. Help plz

I know this may sound stupid... is it plugged in?

yes. im figuring the monitor is shot because its not receiving signal with the old card or the new card. maybe the wire is bad....dunno

Can you check the monitor out on another computer?
