Default Lookin for a new card...I have some questions before I buy

Hey I'm looking to upgrade my current card but I'm torn on what to do. I want to get a card that will be awesome for gaming and something I won't have to upgrade for awhile. I was looking at the 7900gt ko by evga. But then I noticed that there are cards w/ 48 pixel pipelines out now. I then read that there are new ati cards w/ gddr4 on board coming out. Should I wait for the 48 pixel pipeline cards to come down in price or get the evga one right now? Are there any other cards that would be recommended?

the 48ppl cards are the 7950GX2, which is essentially two 7900gt's put together. It all depends on how much you want to pay for the card.

true...from the sound of his question he is willing to spend as much as it takes personally i would get the 7900GT because that is more than i would need plus i really like the idea of SLI if it comes to that

See now that's what I was thinking. I'm compelled to get the 7900gt so I can just sli another one with it down the road but I didn't know if I was being stupid by buying one card when there are a ton of newer and better cards coming out. I think I'll go ahead and get the 7900gt but I have a couple more questions for you all. Should I get the ko or co edition of these cards and are they stable and worth the extra $20?? Also what is the best company for video cards? Is evga any good?

Thanks for all the replies by the way!

Yes, but the 7950gtx2 is signifinatly faster then two 7900gt's in sli. Though much slower than 2 7900gtx in sli.
