This is odd... I hope it had something to do with the keyboard swap as I really don't want to deal with a problematic computer...again!
Anyway, I brought home a dell keyboard from work. I kind of like the buttons they have, and the volume knob, so I figured I'd try it out. Also, my computer would sometimes beep when I play NFS MW due to pressing too many buttons at once. Anyway, I tried the USB keyboard, and it was worse(CTRL, UP, and LEFT would lock up the keyboard) So I swiched back to my original PS2 keyboard, and my machine wouldn't get past the POST logo. I tried with and without the keyboard, without any drives, resting the bios...nothing. I decided to pull the video card, flip it on/off, then reseating it. Afterwards, it worked... Oookay... Now I've had similar problems with other computers, but usally they'd just give me a no video beep. But I'm confused. I mean should I point fingers at the video card, or at the motherboard?

...this was a printer problem. Leaving it on causes the computer to search for flash drives(printer/scanner combo) thus locking it up for some reason. Common problem

When first connecting the Dell to the usb port did you enable usb keyboard in the bios with the power on with usb keyboard or mouse option? That shouldn't stop a PS2 model from working normally since that only enables the option to use the usb type. The first thought is the PS2 connector now has some play in it. Upon initially buying an MS PS2/usb combo mouse the connector saw a little bump when sliding the case back in. From that time on the PS2 connector was left off even now on a new board. Examine that closely to see if that got stretched a little.

I think so... It was working just fine earlier, but I connected my printer AFTER I started my machine up. Just for good measure, I cut it off and back on, but it locked up again. I unplugged all USB, it worked. Plugged them back, didn't... Cut my printer off, worked.
I remember on dad's computer, it does the EXACT same thing when he has his USB card reader connected.

If the printer is pulling your system down it's time for a new one. If that unit showed no problems on the old case and now sees this it is due to the old board not being as sensitive to a problem in the combo now getting worse. How old is the combo?
