Default i think all my usb ports are screwed....

i cant get anything to work. ipod, usb stick or printer. i have a pci card with 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 1.1 ports. ive tried all of them and none of them work. windows came up with a warning saying it has recovered from a major failure, or someting along those lines.

i plugged in my ipod as usuall. it started charging and i opened itunes. but ipod never appeared. it didnt come up in 'my computer' either and usually when you plug something into a USB port, it recognizes it in the taskbar. that didnt happen either. so i restarted my computer with the ipod still attached. when it started to boot my computer restarted by its self. i unplugged the ipod and it booted like normal. when i logged on the warning came up.

now none of the USB ports work. can any one tell me what might have happened and how can i fix it?

my ipod still works and plays music fine so im pretty sure that my ipod isnt broken. as i said before, my memory stick does work and my printer wont work.

A problem with your card.

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for the card, if they're needed?

As I've never used a Pci card for USB ports, I don't know what the problem IS. All I can suggest is to use the USB connections that are located on the back of your motherboard.

look in the device manager to see if you have any errors (yellow exclamation points).
I found some useful info here:

ok ive established that the ports on my motherboard arnt wrecked. the ports on my pci card arnt working. the thing is that the motherboard ports are only 1.1. so they are really slow. is there any way to know if my pci card is broken or if its windows being stupid?
