Default Dull sounds in one speaker, sharp in the other one..

ok i noticed this recently that one of my speaker sounds are kinda dull whereas the sounds for the other one are sharp.. Even when i plug in a headphone, the same side headphone speaker is dull as for the pc speakers.. This can be a soundcard problem or its just the speakers?

Plug the headphones directly into the computer and see how they sound.

TOO is right.
If the sound is lousy when listening directly from your soundcard, then your card's shot.
If the sound is lousy when listening from the speaker headphone jack, your speaker amp is shot.
