Default How soon would a new build today be outdated? -Specific example :)

Hello. I am a noob with comps and I am not aware of how fast technology advances....

Im interested in building a, what I consider, decent build for gaming... but how soon would my comp be outdated to where games, lets say in.... 1 year, 2 years... would have problems running?

Specific build, or close to it:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Model ADA4400CDBOX

CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model Twinx2048-3200c2pt

eVGA 256-P2-N553-AX Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

GIGABYTE GZ-XA1CA-STB Black Front bezel : Aluminum Body : SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Sony DVD-R drive, Samsung floppy, D-Link ethernet card, 80 gig Hard drive, creative sound card, 500watt antec power, windows xp...

_________

Any answers are appreciated, and if this build would not be outdated soon, then ANY SUGGESTIONS to my build are HIGHLY APPRECIATED! Thank you

It's kind of outdated now but not by much. AM2 is out. It would probably be really out dated if they came out with a brand new something.

As far as it not being able to play games anymore. That's all up to the video game producers and how they make their games.

think about it... 2 7900GTs:
7900+7900=15800
that is obviously a much higher number than 7950...

tone down the processor to a 4200+, and also go with socket AM2, you also want a better graphix card (7800gt, or 7900gt).
Socket AM2 is newer than 939, and in a couple years a 7600 is gunna be crap.
spend like 25 more dollars and double that 80 to a 160 at least.
