Hi,
Ive recently seen my friend use an ssh tunnel that runs from his computer to our school(so he can have normal internet access). The program he was using as the client is "putty".
I was just wondering how I could go about doing this myself.
We both are using the same isp but the difference is that im using ipcop as my router.
On my ipcop setup, i enable ssh access and add port 222 for external access...but it didnt work!
So i went about getting a dns name for my external ip, because its dynamic and subject to change.
After completing that, it still wont work!
So today i thought i'd try using a ssh server on my own computer. When I thought about it, it really couldn't work because if i connected to my external address from my school comp then alll it would get is the ipcop machine
Is there a way to re-direct it to my private(lan) address?

Anyone got any clues? Please help me!

ps. when using putty i also had port 8888 forwarded in the ssh forwarding box
