Default Firefox Download Manager Problems

When I open Firefox's download manager the list is empty and where it sais "All files downloaded to:" is followed by a blank. In the options it is set up so that all files download to a folder located on drive C:\. It still downloads file that I tell it to, and puts them in the folder but the download manager does not see or list anything downloaded. It has been working for months and just stoped working today.

I'm not sure if this is related but also today the computer got infected by a virus that hides the system32 folder. I'm pretty sure I got rid of the virus but since then firefox's downloads are having the problem above. The reason I'm not sure if it is related is becuase I remember running into the same firefox problem years before and I don't think the same virus was present back then.

Anyone had this problem before or just know how to fix it?

Thanks

Tried that, no luck. The more I use my computer today, the more wierd stuff keeps happening on it like real player stopped opening completely, the firefox problem, and spyware doctor refused to close or minimize. I'm guessing that the virus that I had before either is not gone or cause some damage before I got it so I'm going to try a few more things but if things don't improve I'm thinking a format should fix everything.

Thanks for the advice
