memory card problem

hi im new to this forum
my problem is when i put my 128mb sandisk memory card into my in built card reader the only thing that happens is my mouse has a loading icon next to it and when i try to open the drive it says"the disk in drive f is not formatted"when i press format it windows unable to complete format.i have also tried formatting it on the camera which has worked but gives me same error plz help
also i have windows xp proffesianal sp2

And it works in your camera? I bet you about anything you could get another reader and it'd work just fine... I have a reader in my laptop, and some memory cards won't work in it. I have one that's built into a floppy drive, and others won't work in it...

I've just never had good luck with Sandisk. They are usally the ones that give me similar problems like that.

I have no clue what you just asked... But, to check your reader, find another card, or try that card in another reader.
