Default Fatality, Platinum, or Elite Pro?

I am not sure how much better each card is then the next so I am looking for some opinions here.

I have Altec Lansing 5100s and even though they're old... they sound great. That's with an old Soundblaster Audigy Gamer Soundcard!

They are about $100 apart starting at $170 or so. So it's:

170
270
370

This is a gaming system and the Video Card will be a 7900GT. The Processor will be a E6600 and will have 2gb of Corsair XMS ram.

Any opinions?

I would just save your cash a go for the cheapest one. You probably won't notice a huge difference in audio quality anyway so unless your trying to make the ultimate rig its not worth forking out $370 for the Elite Pro, thats just my opinion.

Really think the differences are minimal? Hmm... that's kinda disheartening.

To be honest its hard to know whether one sound card is going to be better than another based on written facts or price. You have to actually have tried it out or listened to the audio yourself. I would recommend reading some reviews from people who have the cards and then basing your decision on that.

The reviews on the Elite Pro were awesome. Everyone loved it... no cons really. Said the sound it makes are amazing. It also has a bunch of attributes you use it says. Hmm................................... haha I hate these decisions!

In that case by all means go out and get it but just remember, that is still a lot of money. Only get it if your absolutely sure you don't need the money for something more important like a psu or whatever.

The faltality is more of a gaming card. Where the Elite Pro is more for proffesianal use. The only up-side to the Elite Pro is that it has 116db (SNR) compared to 109db that of the fatality and xtreme music.

It seems the specs are exactly the same except for the signal to noise ratio.

The only difference between the two, is that the Fatal1ty and Elite Pro have 64MB of XRAM. So the only differences that your paying for between those two are the different types of external boxes and software. Sound quality on all of the X-Fi's should be about the same.
