need a start up disk
does any one know where I can download a system disk for my acer laptop NOT dirrectly from acer? i have 3 recovery disks but they are useless to me without the system boot disk. anyone know where i can get one to dl?

You needs to find one specifically for your model of notebook as each system disk contains drivers for that specific notebook. If you're looking to perform a system recovery press alt+F10 at the bios splash screen (press it a few times to make sure) and the system recovery should start

give acer a call and they should be able to issue you with a decent set. I've tried looking for disk sets online but was unable to find it.
Also you didn't explain that the partition had been erased and were unable to perform a disk-to-disk recovery.

ok I called acer - they want $20 for a system disk!!! they are not going to support their own product?!
