Default I could Really use you guys help!

I have been looking into purchasing a new laptop. I will be graduating from LSU in engineering this fall, so I need to be able to use this after school also.
My price range is around $1000, give or take a few Hundred. My real concerns are processor brand and speed, RAM, graphics card. I would prefer atleast 80 gig hard drive, must have wireless capability. If you could recommend a complete laptop, that would be great. But I realy only need opinions on the processors, RAM, and G card.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
