Default 250 dollar vid card, suggestions anybody?

i recently bought a new computer but i ddint buy a video card as i didnt have the budget. I was using a friends old video card for a few weeks and now have plenty of money and want to buy a new card. What are a few good cards i can buy around the 250 dollar mark?
i am interested in buying both ATI or Nvidia as i do not have much of a preference.
225- 275 is about my budget.

yup i would agree with the 7900gt

just make sure you get a newer version cause i guess some older versions with evga and xfx were having issues and had lots of RMA's
