Default Counter Strike:sometimes it shuts down

why does my counter strike 1.6 game shut down when server changes to certain maps ?

it is always the same maps, cs_crackhouse_cw , nth_lets_take_mothers_tank ,
and a few others

why will does it not shut down on other maps but only these ?

1st thing I would do is reinstall the game and see if that fixes the problem. Have you done that yet?

Have you made sure that there isn't an update for those maps that you don't have? Sounds like a conflict of map versions...

i have played those maps before on this comp but all of a sudden they dont work (after not playing cs 1.6 in 6 months)

cs_celtic is one of those maps . i dont beleive it has an update
cs_crackhouse_cw also, i have played before on same comp, doesnt work

i have tried deleting the maps and redoawloading them doesnt work

Hmm..., have you downloaded any new security updates for Windows, or any new drivers for your video card in that time frame?
