Default Amd Or Intel

Quick question...
In your opinion... between the AMD 64 3800 2.0 Dual Core and the Intel 820 D 2.8 (Dual Core)...
Which if the 2 is the better CPU for everyday PC use (internet, DL music, Chat, basic PC gaming)

Keep in mind Multi-tasking is a must.

The X2 3800+ will perform much better in gaming and a substantial amount better in multitasking.

The X2 3800+ would be the best choice in any scenario.

Intel has historically been ahead of AMD but why has it been so far behind recently? (pre conroe)

Because they were too caught up in GHz and they were selling more because of it as well. If it ain't broke don't fix it, because in their case they would lose money.
