Exclamation when I turn om y computer it say CPU=1.1GHz when I know its 2.2GHz

I don't understan when I have my computer start up it says my CPU is 1.1Ghz and I know it is 2.2GHz. What could be wrong?

click start>right click my computer, and see what it's running at, if you just put a new cpu in there, you may gotten the wrong fsb, and it's thinking it's the older cpu, thats what my guess is...

I can't even get to my desktop due to the need of a new OS. but on start up that's what it says is 1.1GHz. Seems kind of odd that it would have exactly half of what it is.

Try taking the CPU out and putting it back in.

Just do it and see if the clock speed changes, also as Jp said, look in the BIOS and see if the FSB is correct.

The FSB isn't correct. it says 200 MHz and I know it should be 400MHz. How do I fix that?

Try to bump it up to 400Mhz. What memory are you using?
