hen i came to my comp. this mroning, all that was showing was the background, as if explorer had shut down. I had just woken up, so i instead of seeing whats wrong i just pressed the restart key. Now, everytime i start the comp. up, the dell screen shows up, and then it says:

windows ME emergency boot...

windoes corp. 1996-1999*or w/e)


(ms dos) c:\

if i try pressing exit , just a new line of ms dos comes up, if i trey rebooting, same thing happens. I can go to dir and anything else. I was told by my bro to find the windows startup file, but i am not sure where it's located, so:

1. Shouls i try to fin the windows exicutable file, and if so, where is it or what do i type in MS DOS?

2. If not then what should i do?

please answer ASAP, for my i love my computer

k so u wanna know no how 2 get back on 2 windows, but u can only get into dos (but u only know how to go into directories).

U will need a start up disk to help get windows back on track.

no, typing in win works

though every time i reboot it sitll goes to dos, i tink i have a virus, but im getting norton by mon or by wed :-D
